aya kakeda is a great silkscreen printer who does really nice 2-color print which you can see on her site. she also does fantastic illustrations and character designs. the site for brian biggs, one of my favorite illustrators and comics artists. his graphic novel dear julia falls on my top 5 list of best comics.
actus tragicus, an israeli collective of super-talented illustrators. they've published one large (and extremely cool) project per year for the past 6 years, all of which are worth checking out. alternative comics!

booklyn is an organization in greenpoint, brooklyn, which aims to promote, exhibit, distribute, and publish artist books. they are some pretty amazing folks, creating some pretty stunning books.

giant robot magazine covers cool aspects of asian and asian-american pop culture, including such useful subjects as toys, music, art, history, and, most importantly, snacks. bust magazine ('the magazine for women with something to get off their chests') is just plain cool.
the bark magazine is a cool magazine about dog culture, with great design + illustration. they have stuff like photo-essays on dog-shaped buildings from the 20's (pictured) or lucian freud's paintings of dogs.
